Today was my first day of break and I was so glad it is finally here!!! The boys and I spent the morning running errands and then we came back and did tons of laundry, cleaned the boys room and my room, changed sheets on everyone's bed, cleaned bathrooms, wrote thank you notes, wrapped presents. . . . it has been a busy day!!! This afternoon, the kids said they were bored (I think they were just tired of cleaning!) so I pulled out a craft I found in the Target dollar bin. They had fun making the ornaments and it kept them occupied for a little bit!

December 19! (A Day late)
Yesterday was the last day of school for me and the boys. Both boys had their class parties. Charlie let me take a couple of pictures during his party, but Alex told me no pictures! So here's some from Charlie's party!
December 18! (two days late!)
I was just going to skip this day . . .I didn't have anything! But I found a picture on my phone that Alex took while we were waiting to see the doctor. We took him up to the pediatrician to get a new prescription for an eczema cream as well as an antibiotic for a sinus infection that just wouldn't go away!

Day 17!
Another busy day! We had our Christmas cantata at Concord this morning followed by lunch at church.
This evening was our family Christmas service at Union. We had eight children singing their Christmas program. They did a very nice job and I think everyone enjoyed it. I am glad to check this weekend off though! Two more days of school to go until break - I am more than ready!!

Day 16!
Lucy had her first sleepover last night for Colleen's birthday. I think she had a great time and even though she says that she slept 8 hours, I think she was a little worn out from all that fun! ;)
We picked her up from the party around noon and went to choir practice for the cantata tomorrow. After practice, she and I went out and did a little last minute Christmas shopping. I asked Lucy if she wanted to stop and get a Coke at McDonalds and she informed me that she would rather have a peppermint mocha from Starbucks! (I should have never let her have a sip of mine the other day!!) So that's what we did . . .plus a chocolate croissant!
Lucy also sang tonight at Love Feast - what a busy weekend! We went out for dinner afterwards and even though we haven't officially celebrated her spelling bee victory, we had a little sushi tonight as a "Pre-celebration!"

Day 15!
Today was the school spelling bee at Lucy's school. She has been so excited to be the representative for her class and we have been studying A LOT! However, we tried to remind her as well that it is just an honor to be chosen and that she would be up against other 3rd graders from their homerooms as well as 4th and 5th graders. We wanted her to just do her best and know that whether she went out in the first round or somewhere else along the way, we would be proud of her.
Well, wouldn't you know, that smarty pants went and won the whole spelling bee!! She will now go on to compete at the district spelling bee in February! Her face when she won was just priceless!!!
All the spellers
I only took a picture of her spelling during the practice round because I didn't want to make her nervous.

We are so proud of our Lucy and can't wait to celebrate with her later on. She is at her first sleepover tonight for her friend Colleen's birthday so it's been a big day for her!
Day 14 (1 day late!)
Alex loves his letter people. In fact, what he wants most for Christmas are the letter people puppets like he has in his class at school. His teacher let me copy her CD of songs and he has memorized them all! He was singing while we were out running errands so here is part of Ms. F's song!!
