We were going to have their party at the pool but the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate. So we changed plans and decided to go to the Fellowship Hall at Union. We could eat and open presents and play. The boys and I got their just before 5 to set up. They could hardly wait to put on their party hats and get their blowers.
Everybody began to arrive and soon Daddy got their with the food and birthday balloons for the boys. They loved these balloons SOOO much!! We should have just gotten that as their gift and they would have been the happiest little boys!
But of course, there were plenty of presents!!!
We sat down to eat our dinner - PDQ!!! The boys love to go eat there but even though everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinner, the boys were just too excited to eat anything!!
After everyone ate, it was time for presents. As soon as they would open one, they would take it over to Poppa and Uncle Lattie and ask them to get it out of the package so they would be ready to play.
Notice how Charlie is trying to hold onto all of his new trains and still come help open presents. ;)
And speaking of growing up too fast, look at this precious girl!!
We had to stop and play a little - opening presents is so much work and sometimes you need a break!
After present time, we came and sat down for cupcakes. We ordered vegan cookies and cream cupcakes for their birthday from our favorite bakery, Sweet Josephine's.
MMMM!!! They may not have eaten dinner, but they were ready for some cupcake!
A video of everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to them. I just love their sweet faces and how happy they are. Moments like these just make my heart want to burst and make all those crazy, hectic twin days worth it all.
After cupcakes, it was time to play! It was probably a good idea to switch the party to the Fellowship Hall - I don't know that we would have ever gotten to the pool because of all the toys we had to try out!
Lucy and Uncle Lattie having fun
When it was time to leave, it was POURING down rain. We waited it out for a little while. . . at least until we could see through the falling rain. Gramma brought the kids an umbrella so they could walk to the car without getting too wet.
