We started out today with all the kids watching Netflix in bed. Lucy was no longer running a fever, but since she had one yesterday, we weren't going to send her to school. Plus, not knowing what we were going to have to do about her ankle, it was better to keep her home and keep her off of it.
Oh wait . . .first things first! This morning, we had to wake up and find Zoey . . . she was riding Alex's cow reindeer from Chick-fil-a. He wasn't too happy about that until we told him that Zoey would tell Santa what a good job he was doing with sharing. That apparently was all it took! What will I do for a quick behavior fix when Christmas is over??
I went into work this morning for rehearsals for our Christmas program and a meeting about middle school chorus next semester. After all of that, I talked with Lucy's doctor and she didn't have a fracture - praise the Lord! She wanted her to keep it wrapped and try to stay off of it as much as possible. She also checked to see if her steroid and inhaler seemed to be helping with her wheezing. I guess it is, but to be honest, I didn't even suspect she had any of this going on when we took her in . . .she had seemed completely normal to me! But we will go back to the doctor in about a month for a recheck and hopefully this is just a fluke caused by some kind of virus.
The UMW at Union had their Christmas dinner this evening at Alex's. The kids loved to eat here and were so excited ALL day about going out to dinner. We had a nice time with everyone . . of course, in my picture, everyone is either staring at the TV screen or their phone screen!
There is a tree lot out in the parking lot where Alex's restaurant is and they have this creepy blowup Santa doll that waves his hand. I didn't want to go anywhere near it but the kids were fascinated by him and just had to go and see him for themselves! Oh well, at least I got to enjoy the smell of the tree lot for a bit!
