Thanksgiving Part 2

Thanksgiving #2 was on Thanksgiving and at the Alexander's house. The kids were so excited because not only would Uncle Lattie be there but Uncle Day Day was coming too! He and Bri drove up for the day from Myrtle Beach. He brought the game, Pie Face, for everyone to play. Since the boys wanted to play too, we went with a wet sponge instead of whipped cream. . . it still did the trick!

Uncle Day Day also brought this Grass Jelly drink he bought at the Asian market . .. .

I didn't try it, but you can probably guess from Latimer's face what it tasted like . . .

The kids love to play Wii bowling with Uncle Lattie!

The weather was so beautiful we had to go outside and play for a while!

We got some family photos too - it's been a long time since we've all been together!

Then on Saturday we went to GreatDaddy's house to visit.  Granddaddy had these cute little reindeer antler/Santa hats for the kids.

Oh, this face . . . what a mess this little boy is!!! :)

Charlie and Great-Daddy

We tried to take a picture with everyone in their hats, but we couldn't see GreatDaddy!

That's better!

After lunch, everyone started to get Granddad's decorations out for him. The kids were so excited to help!

Lucy even got to put the angel on top of the tree.

Thanksgiving Part 1

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we have had! It has been a great time to celebrate with family and we have enjoyed a few days to do nothing but eat, hang out and be lazy! Of course, during this time, we have also gotten the house decorated for Christmas, but I will share all of that in our upcoming 25 days of Christmas photos! So for now, enjoy some of the photos from the boys' preschool Thanksgiving party as well as our Thanksgiving with the Flack/Hout families!

Alex makes a cute pilgrim! :)

So does Charlie!

Lucy didn't have school so she got to come to the party too.

Gramma got all the Flack/Hout kids these cute Thanksgiving outfits. They were so precious!

What we've been up to. . .

Here's a quick overview of what we've been up to since August! I promise I will do a better job of posting as soon as I get through my programs at school!!!

Before school started, Lucy went to a bowling party for one of her friends. She had so much fun that we promised we would take her again. We had a free morning one day, so all the Flacks went to the bowling alley!

They have these ramps available so now everyone is able to bowl! The boys had a big time too!

Fun outside at Grammy's house . . .

On Tuesdays, the boys and I usually run errands since I don't work that day and the boys don't have school. One of our favorite places to go is Target. The boys especially love to go through the toys aisles . . . and of course, we have to play a little too!

We've enjoyed lots of playtime outside as the weather has gotten a little cooler.

The boys have really loved school. I think they would go seven days a week if they could! They went through a few weeks though where they had to wear their pink shirts every day so I was doing quite a bit of laundry. Here they are getting ready to go into school one day. (Alex is the one with the hashbrown in his hand.)

School also has a tendency to wear them out for the day . . . this was one Wednesday when we took Lucy to dance class. :)

Michael and I went to several weddings this fall. He had to officiate at two of them and we were guests at our sweet Elizabeth's wedding. Elizabeth was one of our youth at MRUMC and one of our favorite people in the world. We wouldn't have missed her wedding for anything and even though it was such a rainy evening, it was a beautiful service.

It was so great to get to see lots of friends from Mills River too. While we love where we are now, these sweet people are like family to us and we miss getting to see them!! It was so nice to visit and catch up, even if it was only for a little while.

Because of school, the boys have learned lots of new songs and games. They enjoy coming home and sharing what they've learned. A favorite game has been "Simon Says" . . .

Silly kids

We went to the Dixie Classic Fair at the beginning of October. The kids had a great time seeing the animals and looking at the exhibits. Of course, everyone's favorite thing was the rides! :) Charlie chose to ride the cars. He was so adorable . . . he grinned and smiled the whole way through it like it was the best thing in the world!

Lucy and Alex wanted to ride the firetruck. Alex wasn't tall enough to ride on his own so Michael rode with them.

And a little photo fun for you . . .

Lucy is enrolled in a drama class this year and they are working on a performance of Beauty and the Beast Jr. So for "research purposes," we had to go see the real show in Durham! :)

The boys enjoyed their day as well with Gramma and Pappy.

Everyone has also had dentist visits and doctors appointments in the past few months. Lucy's checkups all went well . . . she is now up to 37 lbs and is 3 ft, 9.5 inches tall. Her doctor's only concern was again that her BMI doesn't even register on the scale. But the child eats well . . .I think she's just such a busy little girl that she burns calories as fast as she takes them in. Of course, if there's a way give her some of mine in order to help her, I'd gladly do that. ;) Isn't that what mothers do, after all - make sacrifices for their children? The boys checkups were great as well. Alex is now 3 ft tall and 25 lbs 13 oz. Charlie is 26 lbs 11 oz and 2 ft. 9 inches tall. We got a new allergist referral for them after our not so great experience last year. I have heard good things about where we are going this time so I'm hopeful that we will leave that appointment feeling like our needs are being met and that our concerns are being heard.

There is so much more that has happened in the past two months, but I'll have to try and write another post another day. I've got my big school musical in 11 days so once that is over, hopefully I will have a little more free time on my hands. :)
