Father's Day

Father's Day started off early with the kids getting up as soon as it was light outside! We went to breakfast with Ms. Kelly.

Ms. Kelly was puppy sitting for a friend of hers. The kids wore this poor little baby out this morning!!! She wouldn't even lift her head up off the couch when the were done playing!

After breakfast, we took the kids out to the park in Mills River. This didn't exist when we lived here but I wish it had! There is a dog park, tennis courts, picnic areas, walking trails and this cute playground. It was really nice!

Alex's new thing is to pretend he is a dinosaur and "Roar" at everyone!

Daddy and his crazy kids . . .Alex is still roaring!

After we played, we went to the movies and saw "Finding Dory." The movie itself was so cute but the boys were so ready for the movie to start that after sitting through 25 minutes of previews, they were frustrated and it took them a while to really get into the movie. I think everyone really liked it though - such a sweet story!

After the movie, Michael and the boys headed back down the mountain and Lucy and I stayed. We will be in Mills River all week at Arts camp and it will be boys week at our house!

Lucy's 7th birthday

Seven!!! How is that even possible!!! Wasn't it just yesterday that this little girl was born?? For Lucy's birthday, she decided that she wanted to go to the Play Lodge in Asheville. Michael has been at Annual Conference in Junaluska this week, so this way we were able to have him be with us to celebrate.

We got there early (no traffic!) so we wandered around next door for a while. There is a great Garden center there and it always has fun stuff to look at. The kids enjoyed a ride in one of the wheelbarrows! ;)

When we got there, I had to get a picture of the boys in the rowboat in the baby play area . . . .look how big they are getting!!!!

This was last year . . .

And here is when they were about 10 months old . . . all my children need to stop this growing!!!

Anyway, back to the party. . . we were the first ones there so the kids got to enjoy having the place to themselves for a while. It was so hard to get any pictures because they were mostly a blur of running here and there and everywhere!!

We did pose for a few! ;)

Harper came up with Gramma and Pappy and Mama Mae. Everyone had a great time playing together.

Charlie had to get in a little train table time too!

We played for about an hour and a half and then it was time to take a break and get some lunch. Lucy wanted to go to her favorite restaurant in Asheville - Juicy Lucy!!!

Once everyone ordered their food, we took a break from birthday celebrations to celebrate Father's Day with Pappy and Daddy.

Once lunch was finished though, Lucy couldn't wait to get into her presents!

Mama Mae got her the ice cream maker that she wanted! She was so excited and can't wait until she can use it. I imagine it will probably make its way down to the beach with us . . .

After presents, it was cupcake time!!! We managed to get all seven candles on one cupcake!!

The boys couldn't wait for cupcakes either - in fact, I think both of theirs were completely gone before Grammy had even gotten the wrapper off of her cupcake!!

We took a few pictures by the Juicy Lucy sign on our way out!

After lunch, we went back to the Play Lodge AGAIN for another two hours. I think those kids would have stayed until closing time, but it was getting very crowded. So intstead, we headed over to Ms. Kelly's house and went swimming in the pool!! By dinner time, these kids were exhausted!!!

We had such a fun day celebrating Lucy. I think she enjoyed her birthday as well!!

Take my picture, Mommy!

The other night, the boys both said, "Mommy, go outside and take my picture!" I thought it was an unusual request, but we went outside.

This lasted for almost 3 minutes . . . then they were done and wanted to go for a walk! ;)

Adventures with the boys

While Lucy has been at school, we have been trying to stay busy. When we stay at home, the boys tend to start to bicker and fight and this mommy just doesn't have the patience to deal with it anymore! I took the boys to the Children's museum the other day. We got there early and so we got to play by ourselves for about 15 minutes before any other kids came in. It's so nice to come in to the museum when everything has been put away and is neatly laid out and ready to play . . .of course, I can't say we left it that way! ;)

Charlie, making doughnuts!

Charlie, driving the Krispy Kreme truck - isn't he cute in his hat and apron??

Delivering the doughnuts!

Alex was playing too . . . he just didn't want his picture taken!

After we played in the Krispy Kreme, we headed into the grocery store. The boys had the best time taking turns ringing each other up!

Alex even did a little cooking demonstration!

This is Charlie's favorite letter in the alphabet room! :)

Outside, they have this climbing net which the boys loved. They probably would have climbed all the way to the top if I would have let them, but they still had a good time just hanging out!

I have so many pictures of Charlie from that day, but that's because Alex wouldn't stay still!! While Charlie was building, Alex was climbing around on the indoor play structure. Last time we were there, he wouldn't do anything but the little monkey wouldn't be still this time. Of course, Charlie sat still like this for about 10 minutes, building his "house!"

Another fun outing was our trip to High Point. We played Putt Putt, ordered cupcakes for Lucy's birthday, went to City Lake Park, and then went to the High Point Museum. There isn't much to do at the museum but they do have the front of a Thomas Bus. These boys just LOVE school buses so we spent about 30 minutes, just taking turns, "driving" around!

They would pretend to stop and pick each other up and when one would get on board, they other would shout, "On the board!" And then when they got off, they said, "Off the board!" So much cuter than "All Aboard!!"

I think these boys would have stayed all day and played just on the bus, but we left to go have lunch with Grammy. I did have to promise though that I would bring them back soon!!!
