Cow Appreciation Day

On July 12th, it was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a. My children LOVE Chick-fil-a and they were SOO excited to dress up like cows. Mommy and Daddy were excited because that meant free food for the evening!! After nap, we went down to the Dollar Store and bought $6 worth of supplies to make our "costumes." (Yes, we spent $6, but getting $30 worth of food for $6 is a win in my book!)
Aren't they just the cutest cows ever??

We got to take our picture with the real Chick-fil-a cow!

The cashier really loved Michael's hat! He got his meal for free since he was wearing "a whole cow on his head."

Michael was very proud of his design on the back of the signs :)

What a fun, delicious, free meal!!

4th of July

Well, at least I got this post written during the month of July! We came home from the beach on the fourth of July. After riding in the car all day, we needed a little time to run around outside. Since the kids were dressed in their 4th clothes, I snapped a few cute pictures of them.

They had the best time shouting, "Happy 4th of July!!"

I wanted to get a picture of Charlie, but he wasn't interested in smiling for the camera.

Alex had lots of poses to share though!

And of course, we have our princess! :)

The next day was the 4th of July celebration at Union UMC. The boys enjoyed eating watermelon!! Lucy enjoyed listening to the blue grass band - I guess you can take the girl out of the mountains, but can't take the mountains out of the girl!

Later that afternoon, this is the kind of shenanigans we were into! You just never know what these boys are going to do next!

Beach Trip (Part 3)

Finally - the last leg of our beach trip! (You would think this trip was a month long and not a week!) We took the kids to the Children's Museum of South Carolina in Myrtle Beach and they had a great time.

Alex, playing hockey

Lucy the builder

Charlie, driving the ambulance

Alex and Poppa, swordfighting on the pirate ship

We tried to make our own bubble around us, but it wasn't easy with two busy little boys!

Lucy did a better job :)

And of course, Charlie found the train table!!

The boys loved the chicken coop. You could make the eggs roll out. . . Alex spent quite a bit of time here.

And here. . .

Lucy did her own mad libs. . . it was quite good!!

All the kids posed as a chef like Uncle Day Day!

On our last morning, we went out for breakfast at Applewood Pancake House, one of our favorites. Of course, before we left, we had to watch Netflix on the Ipad with Poppa!

We decided to try and get some pictures at our favorite tree before we left. It's always a coin toss as to whether the kid will cooperate when you try to take a picture. You just never know! The boys were excited to get out and climb on the tree when we got there.

We got some decent pictures with the kids and Grammy and Poppa.

Of course, this was the best we could do for a family photo. Who knows why Lucy decided to do this? Sigh . . . at least everyone is looking at the camera!

Of course, she would smile for her own picture. . .

Alex and Grammy . . .and Alex's "Cheese" face!

We had a fun family time together at the beach. It was lots of fun and the kids really seemed to enjoy everything that we did. They really seem to like the beach part of the beach . . . it's a good thing their Daddy is such a good sport! Check out these cool beach dudes, headed home!

Beach Trip (Part 2)

Well. . .here's part 2! I am so behind in my posting. Hopefully I can get through our beach trip before the summer is over! And I still have 4th of July, Cow Appreciation Day, and our 2nd beach trip to write about too! I have spent most of my free time lately trying to read these books I have to complete for my ACSI accreditation. I still have a 6 page paper to complete too! It has been a long time since I've had "school work" like this to do, and I am out of practice! Anyway, here goes:

We met Uncle Day Day in Myrtle Beach for lunch on Wednesday and after that, we headed to Broadway at the Beach to ride the rides. We started with the cars and then the motorcycles.

After that, of course, we had to ride the boats!!! :)

Last year, Lucy wanted to ride the caterpillar ride but she wasn't quite tall enough yet. Well, she had been waiting a whole year but she finally got to ride it! It went fast, but she loved every minute of it!!

And then, we had to go back and ride the boats one more time! It was hot, but lots of fun.

We went back to the beach house and played for a while. The boys loved this chair because it spins and they called it the haircut chair. They would take turns sitting in the chair and then they would pretend to pump it up like the stylists' chairs and then spin each other around and say, "Haircut all done. Sucker!" And pretend to give each other a lollipop like you get when your haircut is all done. . . so cute!

After dinner, we went to the pool. We did our best to get a picture with Uncle Day Day. . . they aren't that bad. . .

Lucy and Day Day in the pool

We tried to get another one with Uncle Day Day before bedtime. Sadly, the boys weren't much in to that. . .

They did enjoy sticking their feet up in the air though!

Lucy wanted to get a picture with just her and David. She sure does love her Uncle!

And then, we had to make some funny faces. . .

The next morning, the boys wanted to sit with Poppa and play Ipad.

Then it was back to the beach!!

Alex loved his hat. . .

Alex also loved finding sea shells. And in the background, you can see that Charlie is taking Poppa back out to get yet another bucket of water. . .

Stay tuned for beach trip part 3, the final chapter! Hopefully, I'll get that one up in a more timely manner!
