Snow day!

On Friday night, we had a snowstorm come through. In the south, you never are really sure how much it truly will snow until it's actually finished, but the weatherman was fairly accurate and we got about 7 inches. As soon as they got up, the kids were begging to go outside. We made them wait until about 11:00 in hopes that it would stop snowing, but even when we went out, there were still a few flakes falling!

Charlie hasn't been feeling well, but there was no way he was going to miss playing in the snow!

Our house, covered with snow!

Alex, ready to play!

Lucy couldn't wait to sled.

Michael was less than excited about the sledding. . . .

Charlie's turn to sled!

Look how happy he is!!

Lucy had fun making snow angels.

Alex didn't want to miss out on the sledding fun!

After about 15 minutes, the kids complained of being cold and we were ready to go inside! It was a very powdery snow, so you couldn't really throw snowballs or build a snowman. And I am not one who wants to stay out in the snow .. .I'd much rather look at it from inside my house! We came in and then later that afternoon, the kids said they wanted to go out and get an icicle. They were satisfied though for their Daddy to go out and bring one back in for them!

We made soup for dinner and had a nice, lazy afternoon and evening. After dinner, Michael made snow cream for everyone - some with almond milk for the boys and regular milk for everyone else. Everyone seemed to enjoy it!

Dinner with Day Day and Bri Bri

We weren't able to see Uncle Day Day at Christmas, so he and Bri came up this evening. The kids were so excited to get to play for a little bit! We snapped a few pictures before we left!

One last Christmas post

After all our travels here and there, on New Years, it was finally time for Christmas at Gramma and Pappy's! Gramma and Pappy had set up everything to celebrate our trip to see Mickey Mouse coming up in February.

Silly boys!

Charlie helped Gramma get ready for lunch and arranged the vegetable tray himself.

We had a delicious German dinner and then it was time to open presents!

After presents, we had dessert. Gramma had some special ice cream for the boys.

Alex ate a little of his and then decided he was finished.

Charlie enjoyed his! And speaking of Charlie, this picture doesn't even look like him! Who is this little kid sitting in the chair - where is my baby??

We had a big breakfast the next morning with grits, bacon, casserole, cinnamon rolls, pancakes and orange julius.

Alex ate at least 5 pieces of bacon!

The kids played Pin the Nose on Mickey!

And finally, we got a family picture!
