Lucy said goodbye to her friends at preschool. . .
And then we had to say goodbye to our friends at Salem. . .
(Sorry it is sideways - i can't seem to make it turn!)
While we were packing at the end of June, Charlie discovered what fun it could be to ride in Lucy's shopping cart.
We couldn't tell if he was enjoying himself or not until it was time to take him out. It took two people to pry him out of there!! He just wasn't going to let go!
After it was all packed up on the truck, everyone loaded up into our van and spent the night at a hotel.
Lucy is a big fan of hotels. She thinks they are the greatest thing in the world. She even got her Daddy to take her swimming in the big pool! ;) (If you know Michael at all, you know what a huge accomplishment this is!)
We spent the first few weeks of July unpacking boxes in our new home and working to get settled. I have to say that overall, my children handled the move remarkably well. There were definitely some frustrations along the way but we all survived. It is good to be moving back into somewhat of a routine though! We bought a playard for the boys in the living room. It is the only way to keep them in one place these days. And as much as I enjoy chasing little boys from one room to the next, sometimes you just need to be able to set them down and know they will be safe! They don't seem to mind it too much. . .
Alex and Charlie have also started pulling up and standing on their own. They both are also taking a few steps on their own with the walking toys. Alex is pictured below. He is very cautious about it, taking only a few steps and preferring to remain standing still. Charlie, however, enjoys moving at a quick speed. He may skip walking and just start running!
The boys are also big on food these days. .. a welcome change after so long of torturing them to feed them! Their favorite way to eat is to of course, feed themselves. Gotta love whoever invented these squeezies!!
The boys new room is a little small and so both cribs are on the same wall. It provides a lot of entertainment for the two of them when they are supposed to be napping!
Don't worry - when they are tired, they still nap hard!
They are not always the best at drinking their bottles these days. It gets harder and harder to hold them still long enough for them to finish!
And what about Lucy? She's been busy as well! She loves to take pictures on Mommy's phone . . .
She went to her first movie in the theatre - Despicable Me 2. She LOVED it! Of course, she also loved the popcorn and M&M's and Fruit Punch during the movie as well!
Lucy will start back to preschool at Calvary Baptist mid-August. She is ready to get back into school! And I will be joining her as well! I accepted a part time position at Calvary as the lower school music teacher. I'll be there three days a week ...just two doors down from Lucy's room!
And one last fun thing - we took Lucy to the "big big mall" (Hanes Mall) and she was so excited that they had a carousel INSIDE!! :)
So that's life here. . .never dull!
