Lucy's birthday party

This past Saturday, we had Lucy's 8th birthday party. Her birthday isn't until later this month, but we wanted to have her party early so that she could have her friends come before school got out. She had a group of seven girls plus her brothers and cousins. Lucy decided she wanted to have an ART party this year (no matter how much her Daddy teased her about having a Fart party!!) and so we came up with crafts to do. Once everyone got there and we got some of our wild and crazy sillies out, they settled down and painted their canvases.

Uncle Lattie is "helping" Charlie with his wonderful art skills! :)

After all the painting fun (which took a lot longer than I anticipated!!), we decided to have our food. The kids got to decorate their own cupcakes and then we had fruit, veggies, chips, rice krispie treats, and punch.

We also had a little photo booth set up. Originally, the girls were going to decorate picture frames and then we would have these photos for them to put into their frames. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and so we just sent the photos to the girls later. . . they did have a lot of fun being silly in the photo booth though!

Lucy and her friend Jessica had also set up a ballot box to see which pet was everyone's favorite. I'm not sure what the whole story behind this was, but they were very excited about it!! So everyone got in line to vote!

Charlie wrote in his favorite (Raffi, of course!), since that choice wasn't originally offered!

After voting, it was time to open presents. Lucy got some really fun craft things which she can't wait to do this summer. (In fact, she already did one of her paint by numbers this afternoon!!) This was such a sweet bunch of girls and they really seemed to know what Lucy likes - crafts, books, and Shopkins!!

After presents, we did one more craft and made ice cream cone necklaces. Some of the girls went back and painted a little more on their canvas and some went back and did some more pictures in the photo booth. Then it was time for everyone to go. Everyone seemed to have fun and I think Lucy enjoyed her party!

We made sure to get a little Flack Family Fun in as well! :)
