Beach Trip (Part 1)

The week of the 4th was our family trip to Litchfield beach with Grammy and Poppa. What fun we had!! I hope you're ready for quite a long entry!! (or maybe entries . . . )

On our ride down to the beach, we watched The Sound of Music. Alex, for some reason, watched it like this . . .

Uncle David came to visit us on Monday. We played and then in the afternoon we headed to the beach.

Charlie had a scratch on his belly and as the salt water dried on his skin, it irritated him and so he got a little fussy. I didn't mind having a little cuddle time though!

One of the boys' favorite games was filling up with the buckets with water and then dumping them out into other buckets or on the ground and then making Poppa go get them some more water! :)

Lucy went out in the water with Poppa to do a little swimming. Don't worry. . . they didn't see any sharks. Although, we did see lots of dolphins out jumping. Of course, after the dolphins went by, Lucy didn't want to go back out in the water. ;)

That didn't stop Alex from wanting to go out!! His favorite part was licking his hands after getting splashed by the salty waves.

And Michael's favorite part of the beach . . .still the Sultan of Litchfield! :)

Alex loved to squeeze the sand through his fingers.

Uncle David dug a hole for the boys which they loved. I love how they sit and play together like this every year. :)

Uncle David cooked a delicious dinner of crab legs and shrimp for dinner. We love it when Uncle Day Day cooks!!

Since we were all up early, we just decided to get ready and start our day out by the sea!

Alex stole this hat out of the closet and refused to take it off for the longest time. He loved wearing his "beach hat."

Again, with the buckets of water!!

And here's what Charlie did . . .played in the sand!!

The kids and I went and sat in the waves for a long time as the tide went out. We sat and uncovered so many shells and they loved sitting their collecting them in their buckets. It was such a great time, just relaxing in the water and sunshine together. Of course, when we got back to the beach house, everyone's bathing suits were SO full of sand. Of course, I think that's the sign of a good beach day!

That evening included a trip to the pool. Grammy and Poppa got the kids squirters to use in the pool and they had the best time!

Everyone also loved jumping in the pool! The boys would hardly pop up after jumping in before they would shout "AGAIN!"

Splashing each other was also fun!

They also like to "fly" and then splash down.

All that swimming can really wear you out!!

The next morning, I got up and went for a run. When I got back, the kids were outside playing with Michael and decided to take their own little run around the circle. :)

Lucy and Charlie went out with me to one of my favorite places in the world . . the pier! :) We had lots of fun watching the birds and looking for fish.

We were going to eat lunch with Uncle Day Day but we had to wait for him to get off work. We went down to the Hammock Shops and played on the playground. Even Poppa wanted to play!!!

And what would a trip to the Hammock shops be without trying a few hammocks out?

Cool dude Charlie! :)

Alex wanted to hang from the trees like a monkey!

After the Hammock shops, we headed up to Myrtle Beach to eat lunch with David. And after that, we went to Broadway at the Beach to ride the rides!! Stay tuned . . .
