For Christmas, we got the kids new bedding. It was time to move the boys out of their cribs. They have been so excited and couldn't wait. Look how excited they are!!
We also used the back of Lucy's/Alex's crib as the headboard for Lucy's new bed too. She is thrilled with all her extra room now for her and her stuffed animals!!
I wondered if the boys would have a hard time going to sleep, but it didn't take them long at all!
This morning, the boys stayed in their beds until I went in to get them. They are so cute and so proud of being able to sleep in big boy beds. They keep reminding me what big boys they are now - sleeping in their new beds, wearing underwear and no more pullups . . . .I am so thankful that they are moving on to this stage, but a little part of me is sad. There are no babies in my house anymore!

December 26th
So much Christmas fun! Yesterday after all of our Christmas fun at home, we packed up and went to Grammy and Poppa's house for Christmas over there. But before we talk about that, here are the sweet ornaments my babies made for us at school.
We had a wonderful meal at Grammy and Poppa's house. Poppa fixed the meat and we had lots of delicious sides and desserts. The boys were so excited though to open presents, they could hardly stand it!
In fact, they got their Spiderman toys off one of their presents because they just couldn't wait any longer!
Finally it was time to open presents . .. you can see just how excited we are!!
The kids got snow boots for Christmas . . . . a great gift, except it was 70 some degrees on Christmas Day! That didn't stop the boys from wearing their boots around though!
Alex got a Fisher Price airport and was so excited to play with it. Uncle Lattie went back to his room to put it together. The boys came back to "Help" but we quickly sent them off to play with their other toys so he could actually work.
Grammy made Pappy Cakes in the shape of Christmas trees for the boys. They loved them, as you can see!
Once their airport was finally together, the boys sat down and played. . . . for hours!!
You can see here just how much fun they had!!
Today we went to Great Daddy's house. The kids brought a few of their toys from home to play with and had a good time showing Uncle Phillip how everything worked.
Emerson and Lucy had a big time playing out in Great Daddy's garage.
These two little girls can get quite loud together . . . but they sure are having a good time!!
Before everyone had to leave, we got our traditional photo together. It was nice to have everyone all together!
Even though they swore they weren't tired, this was what it looked like in our car on the way home!!
It has been such a wonderful Christmas. The kids have played well together, had so much fun, and it's just been such a joy to have this sweet time together with family. I am so grateful for this time, these memories made. For every laugh, smile, hug, kiss, every "Merry Christmas!", the snuggles . .. even the mess that is my house right now after playing together. It is never far from my mind that life is fragile and that things can change in the blink of an eye. So I am so thankful for times like these where we can be together, making memories together to last a lifetime.
Charlie's ornament
Lucy's ornament
The boys both made one of these gingerbread ornaments in art class at school.

It was all a little much for Alex!
Me and my birthday buddy, Sloan! She is such a sweet little baby, even though she was fighting a cold!

December 25th
Merry Christmas!! The kids were so excited last night that it took them forever to go to sleep. I think Lucy fell asleep around 9:15 or so and the boys probably lasted until 9:45. Santa had already put everything together in his workshop, so we just had to bring everything upstairs.
I checked on everyone before I went to bed. . . . here's all the children nestled in their bed while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. . .
Michael wanted me to take a picture of my 4th child too. ;)
Of course, she has her Kit doll sitting there and what did she go for first? The Shopkins!
She loved everything in her stocking.
The boys made it until about 6:40 and Michael went down the hall to get them. Lucy was excited to show them everything.
Charlie wasn't quite awake when he came out . . .it took him a few minutes to wake up, but his excitement soon got the best of him.
The boys loved their "Pew Pews" (Lightsabers) and were even more excited when Daddy showed them how to make them disappear and reappear.
Everytime I ask Charlie to smile, this is the face he gives me these days!
Same with Alex. . .
Lucy finally got around to playing with her Kit doll. Santa was worried for a little bit!
The boys had a lightsaber fight. . . .Daddy was a little jealous he didn't have one to join in!
Lucy played with her toys . . .Pig is wearing a Shopkins hat.
We all sat down to have breakfast together. Michael and I enjoyed ours . . .the kids hardly touched theirs. The boys kept asking if it was time to open presents and then Lucy said her tummy hurt too much to eat. Of course, that could be because every time we turned around, she was eating a piece of candy from her stocking!!!
Her tummy was miraculously feeling better when it was time to open presents. Everyone seemed to love what they got.
My sweet kids made this picture for me. It was such a sweet surprise. :)
Once everything had been opened, it all had to come out of the box so we could play. Alex has had the best time driving his Flying Ace around the house. Lucy did a good job picking that toy for him.

It has been such a fun Christmas morning!! Everyone has been surprisingly great about sharing their toys with each other and I think we've only had one or two disagreements over sharing. The fun continues though because we are getting ready to go to Grammy and Poppa's house!!!
